The girl opened her eyes to view the countryside that could be seen from the window. Speeding by, the fields had a gentle layer of mist. It was just the kind of field that she imagined an Victorian hero riding through on his elegant steed - so typically romantic England.
She thought about the friends she had just seen, all so happy and content. It had been a good visit and she had left feeling positive. Her thoughts wandered to a discussion she had had on Friday evening. Speaking with friends not seen for months always brought about old stories that needed to be rehashed and it had been informative. Fun. Gossiping always was. For a moment, she concentrated on the music from her discman and then returned her gaze to the field.
Boom - her mind crashed in to a stone wall. In the space of a second, it was all so painfully obvious.
She wasn't over the him.
